You’ve made it through the hectic and beautiful part of the holiday season, and now with the shopping done it’s time to enjoy the beauty of it all! I hope you continue to enjoy each day and what it brings; with time to treasure the peace and company of loved ones.
It’s now time to settle down, reflect on the season, and pamper yourself with a little “me” time! This is my favorite time while either curling up by the fireplace with a “feel good” holiday novel, making a lunch date with a friend, or a little spa time. Although many of us would love to enjoy time at a spa, this is not always possible. My answer; create your own in the comfort of your own home!
Here is my simple recipe and all it takes is 20-30 minutes of “me” time, a bathtub of warm water, candles, essential oils, and tuning out the world for that time.
Create a mini spa… Take time at least one night a week to create a little mini spa in your home. All you need are some nicely scented candles, bath salts or baking soda, Epsom salt, lavender oil, some relaxing music and a nice soft towel and robe. Dim the lights, light some candles in the bathroom, and fill the bathtub with very warm water (as warm as you can stand it) and add:
– 2 cups of Epsom salt
– 1 cup of baking soda
– 10 drops of lavender oil
The Epsom salt and baking soda will help relieve the toxins from your body and the lavender oil is very soothing. Soak in the tub for about 20 minutes. It’s a great, inexpensive way to create your own spa without having to spend a lot of money or time trying to include one more appointment into your already busy day… Now go enjoy “your time” and feeling refreshed to truly enjoy this beautiful time of year!
